For upgrading academic performance of NFPE learners and instructional skills of facilitators, a special arrangement, funded by UNESCO, has been undertaken for five selected townships, Thaketa, South Dagon, Thanlyin, Hopone and Zalun. A short training for upgrading in instructional skills for facilitators and monitors was held in Yangon in December 2015. A competition of academic performance was held centre level as well as township level in January 2016. Also a competition of facilitators’ teaching aids and products of Income Generating Acitivities (IGP) was held in each township. More efforts have been made by facalitators and learners.
